HIIT Classes in Stockton Heath

Short, sharp, coach-led sessions for every level – morning, evening, and with your toddler

High-intensity interval training is the most time-efficient workout there is, which makes it perfect for parents. At Z you get expert coaching, a premium studio, a friendly crowd and – in Mini & Me HIIT – a toddler play area right there in the room.

What is HIIT?

HIIT stands for high-intensity interval training. Instead of an hour at a steady pace, you work hard for short bursts, rest, then go again. Sessions mix bodyweight moves with equipment such as kettlebells, all led by your coach so you never have to think about what's next.

The key word is relative. "High intensity" means high for you. A complete beginner and a seasoned athlete can do the same session at very different levels, which is exactly how our coaches run it.

Why HIIT works for busy parents

  • A proper workout in a short window
  • Burns calories during and after the session
  • Builds strength and cardio fitness together
  • A huge mood and energy boost
  • Easy to scale up or down on the day
  • Nothing to plan – just turn up and follow the coach

Adult HIIT

Fitness exclusively for adults, with teenagers welcome to train alongside their parents. Morning and evening slots mean you can train before work, after the school run or once bedtime is done. Every exercise has low-impact and high-impact versions, so you choose how hard to push on any given day.

Mini & Me HIIT – HIIT with your toddler

On Wednesdays and Fridays, Mini & Me HIIT gives parents of toddlers a full-intensity workout while their little one plays safely in the dedicated play area on the other side of the studio. You're in the same room the whole time – no drop-off, no childcare, no guilt. It's the class our Baby & Me mums "graduate" to once their babies are on the move.

Glutecamp and Kettlebells

If you love the energy of HIIT but want to get stronger too, our Glutecamp and Kettlebell classes are the perfect pairing – focused strength work for the glutes, legs, back and core that makes every HIIT session (and every school-bag-carrying, toddler-lifting day) easier.

Who is HIIT for?

  • Busy parents short on time
  • Complete beginners (yes, really)
  • Parents with toddlers (Mini & Me)
  • Experienced gym-goers who want coaching
  • Anyone returning to exercise
  • Adults over 50 – with low-impact options throughout

HIIT after having a baby

We're honest about this one: HIIT isn't the place to start after a baby. Jumping and high-impact work before your core and pelvic floor have recovered is the most common reason new mums end up with leaks or back pain. Start with our Baby & Me postnatal programme, rebuild your foundations, and progress to Mini & Me HIIT once you're symptom-free and your coach agrees. When you do, low-impact options are always on offer.

HIIT vs Pilates: which is right for you?

Both, ideally. HIIT gives you heart-rate, calorie burn and cardio fitness in a short session. Pilates gives you the core control, mobility and posture that keep you injury-free and make HIIT more effective. If you're new to exercise, starting with Pilates or Barre and adding HIIT as you get stronger is a smart route.

"I could barely keep up with the first class and had DOMS for days, but now I leave feeling strong after every class."

HIIT FAQs

I'm a beginner – is HIIT too hard for me?

No. HIIT just means working hard for short bursts and resting in between – and "hard" is relative to you. Every exercise has a low-impact, beginner option and your coach will scale the session to your level.

Can I bring my toddler to HIIT?

Yes. Mini & Me HIIT runs on Wednesdays and Fridays. Your toddler plays safely in the dedicated play area on the other side of the studio while you get a full workout.

Is HIIT safe after having a baby?

Not straight away. We recommend rebuilding your core and pelvic floor first through our Baby & Me postnatal programme, then progressing to HIIT once you're symptom-free and your coach agrees. Low-impact options are always available.

How long is a HIIT class?

Check the timetable for exact class lengths. HIIT is designed to be time-efficient – a short warm-up, a series of work-and-rest intervals, and a cool-down.

What should I wear and bring?

Trainers, comfortable workout clothes, a water bottle and a small towel.

How much does HIIT cost at Z?

Classes start from £8 a session. Pay as you go with class credits, buy a bundle, or take a flexible unlimited monthly membership.

Is there a lift to the studio?

The studio is upstairs and there's no lift, but a member of the team is always on hand to help, and there's a buggy park downstairs by reception.
